  • If you want search engines to note your internet site then you want to form back-links. It's a mantra repeated repeatedly again - create backlinks. But like cheese, not all back-links are born equal. Some back links are truly good while the others are stinkers. There are backlinks that do nothing to enhance your ranking in search websites and there are back-links which will shoot you to the top.

When it comes to backlinks there are 2 main things you need to know:Quality over QuantityIt is not about the quantity of back links you create, it is about the standard of the back links. And this is not just speculation - Matt Curtis from Google has stated this many times in his displays. Being a worker of Google he knows what he's talking about.

What makes a high quality backlink? The simplest way to tell is by Page Rank. What's the Page Rank of the internet site giving you a backlink? If the internet site is unranked or Page Rank one then it's not a top-notch backlink. Google will not give it too much worth ( if any ). But if it a site with Page Rank 5 or six then that's quality. A backlink from a Page Rank six web site tells Google that a very important internet site thinks that your website has quality content.

Also keep in mind that page rank is logarithmic. Meaning that each increase in Page Rank is a ten times increase in value. A PR six is worth 10 times that of a PR 5 web site. So if you're making backlinks by creating guest posts and have to decide between a blog with PR 5 and one with PR six - always go with the higher one.

Naturally the higher the Page Rank the harder it'll be to get a backlink. But regard it this way. You can spends days creating 20 low quality back links on PR one sites, or you can spend those days making one quality backlink on a PR 5 web site. You spend an identical quantity of time, but the PR 5 backlink is worth more then the twenty PR one back links.

    Anchor Text in Back-links
Search engines use the anchor text to establish what the backlink is about. So when you get a backlink try to make certain the link uses your keyword in the anchor text. Rather than the backlink showing your domain name you would like it to show your Keywords. For instance, notice at the bottom of this draft the way in which the link to my web site uses keywords and not the website address.

Search engines keep a record of the anchor text used to link to your internet site - it is one of the primary ways that they use to determine what your internet site is about. When people do a search using your keywords, you have a better likelihood of ranking high if your keywords are employed in backlinks. If the site with the backlink does not use keywords for your internet site, then customarily all it takes is to e-mail them asking them to change it.

It is true, backlinks are vital if you want to rank high in search websites. Don't waste your time making hundreds of valueless back-links. Instead put that time into a couple of quality backlinks. Click here : quality backlinks and back link building for more info.
